On-Site Consultations:

Our On-Site Consultation service offers a comprehensive meeting with our clients to provide expert horticultural and design advice directly at their location. Prior to the consultation, we gather information from the client, usually through a telephone conversation, to understand their specific needs and requirements.

During the consultation, various topics can be discussed, including:

  • Selecting appropriate plant species and determining the ideal quantities
  • Assessing whether existing plants should be retained or removed
  • Improving soil conditions for optimal plant growth
  • Identifying pests and providing advice on effective treatment methods
  • Presenting design concept ideas and providing on-site sketches

Our horticultural experts take notes and create design sketches on-site, which are then provided to the client on the same day.

The On-Site Consultation fee is set at $395, and the consultation typically lasts for a period of 2 hours on-site.

This service is particularly beneficial for clients who are unsure where to begin with their garden project and seek guidance and direction. It serves as a cost-effective option to explore design ideas or obtain specific advice on plant selection and placement.

While clients often take on the implementation themselves, referrals can be made to landscape contractors to provide further assistance if needed.

Landscape Concept Plans:

Our Landscape Concept Plans offer meticulously crafted, appropriately scaled drawings of your project area. These plans showcase a comprehensive layout of the proposed landscape works, encompassing various elements such as:

  1. Paved areas: Clearly marked areas for pathways, patios, or other paved surfaces within the project.
  2. Turf areas: Designated sections for lush lawns or grassy spaces, considering factors like accessibility and visual appeal.
  3. Garden bed areas: Detailed outlines of garden beds, accompanied by specific plant placement recommendations to create visually stunning and functional plant arrangements.
  4. Level changes: Incorporation of retaining walls and steps to accommodate any necessary changes in ground elevation, ensuring seamless transitions within the landscape.
  5. Decking/pergolas: If desired, the inclusion of decking or pergola structures within the design, enhancing outdoor living spaces and providing areas for relaxation or entertainment.
  6. Water features: Suggestions for the integration of water elements, such as fountains, ponds, or streams, to add visual interest and a soothing ambiance.
  7. Recommended materials: Guidance on suitable materials for various components, including paving materials, decking materials, and more, to complement the overall design and achieve the desired aesthetic.
  8. Plant schedule: A comprehensive plan specifying plant species, recommended quantities, ideal pot purchase sizes, and estimated mature dimensions. This information ensures an informed and successful plant selection process.

Our Landscape Concept Plans are thoughtfully crafted to provide you with a clear visualization of the proposed project, enabling you to make informed decisions about your landscape design.

Upon request, we can provide the Landscape Concept Plan to specialist landscape contractors and landscape lighting designers, allowing you to obtain accurate quotes for the implementation of the design. It serves as a valuable tool for communication and collaboration with professionals in the field.

Please note that the Landscape Concept Plan is intended as a design concept only and is not issued for construction purposes. In cases where certain site features, such as large retaining walls, require engineering details, additional information may be necessary for construction purposes.

The fee for Landscape Concept Plans varies depending on the specific requirements of each site. To determine the scope of works and provide an accurate quotation for the preparation of the plan, we can arrange a meeting to discuss your project in detail.

By tailoring our services to meet your unique needs, we strive to deliver comprehensive and customized Landscape Concept Plans that align with your vision and budget.

Landscape Plans for Development Applications (DA):

Our Landscape Plans for Development Application (DA) approval are specifically tailored to meet the landscape regulations set by local government authorities when submitting a development application to the Council.

While specific requirements may vary across different Council areas, the Landscape Plan addresses key issues typically expected to be covered, including:

  1. Appropriate hard surface to soft surface ratios: Ensuring a balanced distribution between paved areas and green spaces to promote sustainable landscaping practices.
  2. Existing and proposed levels (RLs): Accurately depicting the current site levels and proposed changes to assist in assessing the impact on the surrounding environment.
  3. Retention and/or replanting of the mature tree canopy: Identifying and preserving existing mature trees, as well as proposing new tree plantings to maintain and enhance the overall tree canopy cover.
  4. Suitable screening between neighboring properties: Incorporating strategic design elements to provide privacy and visual barriers where necessary, respecting the privacy of adjacent properties.
  5. Appropriate percentage of proposed indigenous and/or low water usage plant species: Incorporating a selection of native or water-efficient plants to promote ecological sustainability and reduce water consumption.
  6. Consideration of heritage guidelines: Ensuring compliance with heritage guidelines if the property is located within a designated heritage area, incorporating design elements that respect the heritage character.
  7. Fire protection zone guidelines: If applicable, incorporating appropriate design considerations to meet fire protection zone guidelines, prioritizing safety measures.
  8. Plant schedules: Detailed documentation specifying plant species, recommended quantities, preferred pot purchase sizes, and estimated mature dimensions to aid in accurate plant selection and procurement.

The fee for Landscape Plans for DA approval is determined on a case-by-case basis, taking into account the unique requirements and characteristics of each site.

By providing comprehensive and compliant Landscape Plans, we aim to support a smooth and successful approval process for your development application.

Planting Plans:

Our Planting Plans offer detailed guidance for proposed planting projects where no landscape hardworks or area redesign is required. These plans focus specifically on plant selection and placement, ensuring the appropriate choice of plant species that align with the existing site conditions, such as aspect, soil type, and climate. The aim is to create a visually appealing blend of plant color, texture, and flowering patterns.

In addition to the Planting Plan, a plant schedule is included, providing comprehensive information about the proposed plant species, recommended quantities, preferred pot purchase sizes, and estimated mature dimensions. This detailed schedule assists in accurate plant procurement and placement.

The fee for Planting Plans varies depending on the unique requirements of each site. To determine the scope of work involved and provide an accurate quotation for the preparation of the plan, we can arrange a meeting to discuss your specific project details.

By tailoring our services to meet your specific needs, we aim to deliver Planting Plans that enhance the aesthetic appeal and functionality of your outdoor space.
