Profile

Flora and Fauna Garden Design was founded in 2002 by Natasha Burrows, a highly experienced landscape designer and horticultural consultant. With over 20 years of experience working in Sydney’s northern suburbs, Natasha has established herself as a respected professional in the industry. Her qualifications include a Bachelor of Science in Urban Horticulture from UTS and a Graduate Diploma of Landscape Planning from UNSW.

Natasha’s extensive plant knowledge stems from her background in the nursery industry. She also possesses a deep understanding of soils, having served as an Urban Soil Consultant at the Sydney Environmental and Soil Laboratory (SESL Australia) for a number of years.

Throughout her career, Natasha has worked on various notable projects. She has provided design and consultation services for well-known entities such as the Backyard Blitz TV program, Eden Gardens, Wirreanda Nursery, and Chris Chominsky Landscapes. Her talent and expertise were recognised when she won the 2003 ABC Gardening Australia Design Competition. Subsequently, Natasha has designed and constructed two show gardens for ABC Gardening Australia and the Sydney Garden and Flower Show at Darling Harbour.

Natasha is currently working part-time at Harvest Seeds & Native Nursery Terrey Hills, who provide an impressive range of Australian Native plants, including those endemic to the Sydney area. https://www.harvestseeds-nativeplants.com.au/

While Natasha holds a personal passion for Australian native plants, she ensures that her plant selections and overall design style are harmonious with the site’s existing features, architectural elements, sense of place, and client preferences. This approach allows for a diverse range of concept styles that cater to the unique requirements of each project.

With her dedication to horticulture and landscape design, Natasha and Flora and Fauna Garden Design strive to create exceptional outdoor spaces that blend beauty, functionality, and environmental sustainability.
