‘Native Garden of the New Millennium’

The ‘Native Garden of the New Millennium’ was commissioned by Wirreanda Nursery and constructed and displayed at the Sydney Flower and Garden Show, Darling Harbour 2005.

The garden was a Gold Medal winner with it’s depiction of the use of Australian Native plants to achieve a modern stylised and totally ‘non-native’ atmosphere, according to the widespread stereotype of how a ‘native garden’ should appear.

Many visitors to the garden were surprised to learn that all plant species used within the garden were native.

The ‘Revival’ Garden was designed with the intent of providing a sensory retreat from the world. A place in which to relax and unwind, to feel safe and secure, yet invigorated and renewed.
